The Mayor of Getafe, Sara Hernández, together with the Councillor for Housing, Ángel Muñoz, and the manager of the Municipal Land and Housing Company (EMSV) of the municipality, Ángel Fernández, visited this morning the new Healthy Homes Office promoted by the EPIU Getafe Healthy Homes project, located in Plaza Obispo Felipe Scio Riaza, 2, and the five professionals in charge of providing citizen attention from there, to advise on energy efficiency in housing and thus combat energy poverty in the municipality.

In this regard, the mayoress highlighted "the important work involved in helping residents to learn more about energy issues, both to improve their quality of life and for the future".

For his part, the councillor for Housing commented: "The Getafe City Council continues to respond and work to improve the living conditions of our residents through a municipal service integrated in this European project that puts our municipality at the forefront of measures to improve efficiency and reduce energy vulnerability".

The coordinator of the OHS, Alejandro López, presents the new facilities of the Healthy Homes Office to the mayoress, the councillor, the manager of the EMSV of Getafe and a representation of the partners of the EPIU project.

The staff of the Healthy Homes Office is open from Monday to Friday, from 9:30 to 14:00 in the morning and from 15:30 to 18:00 in the afternoon, and appointments can also be made by calling 91 2080879 or via the project's website.

This service provides advice on invoices, guidance and social voucher procedures, responding to the needs in terms of energy efficiency and advice. In this way, the office is incorporated into the municipal network of information, assistance and support, as an essential public service to address the exceptional situation in the energy sector. The municipal office is part of the European project EPIU Getafe Healthy Homes, which involves other partners from academia, municipalities and experts in the field of energy and training.

Energy advice offices in Las Margaritas and La Alhóndiga

This office joins those in the neighbourhoods of Las Margaritas and La Alhóndiga-Fátima, both located in civic centres, which have been offering information to citizens since the summer about the European project EPIU Getafe Healthy Homes, with grants to improve housing and neighbourhood communities.

These offices provide direct information to residents on the project itself, as well as on how they can improve their homes and neighbourhood communities thanks to this aid, in addition to intervening in the neighbourhoods in terms of energy vulnerability. They also attend to any hard about energy improvement in homes such as consumption habits, knowing more about electricity and gas bills or access to the Bono Social Eléctrico y Térmico.

The offices are open at the Centro Cívico de Las Margaritas on Wednesdays, from 9:30 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00; and at the Centro Cívico de La Alhóndiga-Fátima, on Thursdays at the same times.
